Glass Types:
SP26 Cast Wired
SP26 Clear Wired
The Pilkington Profilit™ U-profile glass system was used extensively as the central focal point in the main atrium of the building, and creates a large curved glazed pod, which spans over two floors. It is made up of a combination of straight and curved sections of differing radii. The normal limit for curved internal screens is approximately 2m.
On this project the Profilit™ glass was facetted into curved aluminium with a radius of 1.4m using a specially adapted aluminium frame. The two glass types were used in a random pattern to create a distinct bar-code effect which provided areas of obscure glazing and clear vision panels to produce a fantastic architectural effect.
