Manchester Concert Hall

When the Pilkington Profilit™ U-profile glass system was installed at the ‘Tower of Time’, part of Manchester's Bridgewater Concert Hall, it marked a significant stage in the development of the system.

 

This prominent architectural feature, utilising computer-controlled lighting, together with the diffusion of the glass, creates different combinations of light and colour tracking the changing of the seasons, days of the week and hours of the day. A simple glazing concept transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, economically providing the architect with the Freedom to Design.
