Liverpool Community College’s new flagship building, the Learning Exchange, designed by Ellis Williams Architects, forms a bright and inspirational learning environment and is considered the hub of college life.

 

The combination of cast and clear Pilkington Profilit™ glass panels, used extensively throughout the building facade, lends to the project an illusion of movement as light plays over the varying degrees of translucency, from transparent to opaque. This blend in the allowance of light filtration creates areas with a life and character all their own, while the expanse and height of the installation itself (spanning two floors and taking in an impressive corner detail) allows great levels of natural light into the building.
