Lancefield Quay lies on the banks of the River Clyde, in the heart of the city of Glasgow. Designed by Glasgow architects Cooper Cromar, this contemporary new high specification residential development is the first part of the major regeneration of the Clyde waterfront.
To the rear of the development, the courtyard stair cores are expressed as solid elements, which are glazed with the Pilkington Profilit™ U-profile glass system over the top 4 floors and act as visual “light boxes” at night. The architect chose to use vertically installed NP26 Blue Amethyst for these “light boxes.” By night, the thirteen stair towers have a radiant glow, which can be seen from the landmark Kingston Bridge and beyond. Yet by day, the stunning blue glass contrasts well with the white render of the stair towers, and allows maximum levels of natural daylight into the interior.
