The new flagship campus for the City of Westminster College has a Scandinavian-inspired design and was created by Danish architects Schmidt Hammer Lassen.
The Pilkington Profilit™ U-profile glass system was used extensively throughout the external façade of the building to not only filter out direct sunlight, while allowing for high levels of natural daylight penetration, but also to respond and react to the changing environment in a effective and simplistic manner. Using a variety of translucent finishes allows the exterior shell to interact with its surroundings and provides a finish and depth that responds to all environmental conditions.
The building is designed to be sustainable and energy efficient and the overall scheme has a low maintenance liability, significantly reducing the building’s lifespan costs and carbon footprint.
