SP26 Cast Wired (double-glazed)

 

The Pilkington Profilit™ U-profile glass system was specified in this development due to the architects desire to allow as much natural light as possible into the cavernous production halls at the new factory in Broughton, North Wales.

 

The architect chose to use SP26 Cast Wired, double glazed, glass for the 37.5m high horizontally glazed screens – a height equivalent to a 12 storey building. Because of the unique shape of the Pilkington Profilit™ U-profile glass, the horizontally glazed screens were constructed without any additional intermediate supports. The continuous ribbon of Profilit™ ensures that uninterrupted light floods into the building, achieving the architect’s desire for a bright and spacious workspace.
