Jo Richardson Community School praised by Architecture Minister
Architecture minister, Ms. Margaret Hodge analyzed the buildings in her Barking & Dagenham constituency for Building Design. She praised Jo Richardson Community School as being “architecture and design at its best”.
At Reglit Glass Architecture we are proud to have been involved in this successful building work. We installed 2 types of glazing screens at Jo Richardson to answer to 2 different needs.
An external curved wall running for 22 meters was installed on the corner of the building over the alley leading to the main entrance.
5 meter high panels were used, without mid-span structure, as the Reglit glass wall was installed against concrete block purely for aesthetic considerations.

Internally, 4 glass elevations measuring 9 meters in height and covering 3 floors in SP26 Standard Cast double glazing were specified. The translucent walls give a sensation of connection between the floors circulation and the community areas below. (see image on opposite side)
