NHS24 is a call-centre service that has been introduced across Scotland to provide the public with a telephone health advice and medical information 24 hours a day.

Interdec were appointed designers and contractors for the three purpose-built centres of the “NHS 24” Initiative in Scotland; Aberdeen Riverside, Clydebank Health Care International and South Queensferry; and were responsible for meeting the needs of a very particular brief. Unlike standard call centres, this service required an environment that would provide a platform for calm and compassionate conversations.

Reglit Glass Architecture was involved in the design, supply and installation of Profilit TM internal screens to create internal partitions that form quiet and private areas while allowing maximum transmission of natural light.

Several curved screens combining clear, cast and sandblasted glass types and differing radii were installed to form break-out areas, offices, café and internet areas. The screens were sandblasted with the NHS 24 logo and installed in combination with the latest in lighting technology to alter the mood and ambience of the workspace.
