Creating a new useable space within an existing building shell presented AEM Studio with an unenviable task.
Various physical and logistic limitations on-site meant that the glazing product chosen had to meet various criteria:
- High level of light transmittance
- Good acoustic properties
- Sizes and method of installation
Pilkington Profilit met these criteria and provided the architect with an aesthetically pleasing solution, which provided the required adaptability.
Profilit's high level of light transmittance meant that the natural daylight in the corridor was transmitted into the new office spaces.
It's adaptability on-site meant that construction details could be finalised on-site during the installation allowing the design and procurement lead-in times to be reduced.
