RIBA Award Winner
Award Winning Design
The Watford Music Centre is a resource for musical teaching, practice and performance.
Strong attention to detail was required throughout this project as the acoustic performance of the building was essential to its future success.
Pilkington ProfilitTM glass was used extensively for the external shell of the building. Our curtain walling has been installed in front of the concrete walls and proved an ideal material for this project, combining style with functionality.
Specs
- SP26 Standard Cast glass used on the external envelope of building.

- Non-Wired glass used as an aesthetic requirement.
- Technical support provided by the Reglit Glass Design team to integrate window framings with the glass panels.
Tim Ronalds Architects were amongst the selection of practices awarded a RIBA award in 2008 for their work on the newly built Watford Music Centre. CONGRATULATIONS!

“The Watford Music Centre stands in the grounds of a listed Grammar School. The Reglit cladding helps provide a soundproof envelope which sits gently in the landscape and responds to the changing light”.
