Levitt Bernstein Architects made a very clever use of Reglit Glass Panels for this small but outstandingly well-made Student Accommodation Development in the North of London.
LIGHT & PRIVACY
The development of this new Student Accommodation Annexe to James Lighthill House is in the grounds of an existing hall of residence.
The concept consisted in installing five slightly curved screens of NP 26 Standard Cast Wired glass in front of the full height windows of the rooms opposite an existing 7-storey building.
The internal faces of the inner layers of the Double Glazed elevation were Sandblasted to ensure students’ privacy from this close by existing building while enabling maximum lighting in the flats.
The framing layout has an elongated “S” shape. It was constructed from radiused sections of aluminium framing joined to give a smooth continuous sweep to the screens.
